XORUS ASTURIE 110 - 11CM

The Asturie 110 is the bigger brother of the very popular Asturie 90. This lure has almost a cult status in France where anglers have been smashing bass on it for years. The French technique is very different compared to over here in the UK. They tend to be quite violent with the Asturie whereas we tend to be quite subtle with it.

The Asturie is a favorite among many when conditions are flat calm and other surface lures creates too much disturbance on the surface. It's a surface lure that can be worked very subtly if needed be with gentle slides and twitches that won't spook fish. This is ideal for clear, calm shallow water marks where it's easy to spook fish.

Mix it up, do your normal long slide and walk the dog etc but don't be afraid to give it some violent jerks with the rod tip high and then the same with the rod pointing straight down, it seems to work very well across the water in France!

The Asturie 110 is perfect when Bass and other predators are feeding on small bait fish, especially when there's shoals of bait fish in-shore. The 500G pattern is arguably one of the most highly regarded patterns having accounted for a lot of Bass around the UK and France. The 500G patterns is sometimes available as "Lieu" which is the same but with the addition of an internal flashing plate.

I normally choose the the Asturie 110 over the Asturie 90 when a bit more distance is required and the wind makes casting it's smaller brother more difficult. It's a long casting lure that will fly out and will work beautifully even in a slight chop. One of my favorite surface lures to work over a shallow reef
